Learned printer's trade under Colonel Olmstead of Columbus.
Editor of the Richland Whig at Mansfield, Ohio from 1839.
Later admitted to the bar and practiced law at the Lancaster bar.
Indian agent under President Taylor.
Died January 13, 1892 at the home of his daughter Mrs. Breslin.
Daughter Mrs. Nevin of Dayton.
Son C. W. a civil engineer in Columbus.
Son W. S. a merchant of Cincinnati.
