Learned carpenter trade (followed 5 years).
Removed to Medina County, Ohio in 1845, then to Williams County twelve years later, locating on a farm.
Purchased 80 acres in 1852, added 80 more in 1872.
Democrat, then Republican, later Populist.
Married Matilda Reich (native of Pa.) in 1847.
Nine children born, seven died young.
Only Leander living at time of writing.
